PRODUCT REVIEW: TEFAL DAY BY DAY FRY PAN

Out of boredom, I took a bus up to Genting Highland Premium Outlet (GPO) from Gombak LRT last Friday. RM3.70 per way. Quite cheap, eh? I'm quite surprised by the number of people on the bus and also in GPO on a Friday morning! Covid or not, we couldn't resist a good bargain. Heheh!

Unlike my previous trip to any premium outlet, I headed to TEFAL, a cookware store first. Before this, I would visit the sports shoes and apparel stores first. Since now I know how to cook, I must upgrade my cooking gear. When I arrived at TEFAL, there was a line of makciks at the entrance.

I browsed around the shop ith glee and finally set my eye on the TEFAL DAY BY DAY 24" Fry Pan. It is a highly non-stick frying pan for every day hassle-free cooking. Believe it or not, this is the first pan I have ever bought!

TEFAL DAY BY DAY 24" Fry Pan. Dimension Tefal Cookware Day By Day Frypan 24cm : 42.5 x 24 x 7.8 (0.6kg).

The base is made for induction but also suitable for Gas/Electric/Ceramic/Halogen/ method of cooking.

Nice long handle for cooking comfort.

What I really like about this pan is the new Thermo-signal system that can indicate the ideal temperature to start cooking, producing excellent results with total ease. The indicator hourglass disappears and the Thermo-signal turns full red when the pan is fully preheated and ready to cook. No more hands over the hot pan to check the readiness of the pan.

How much are they selling it at GPO? RM76 (RRP 109). I also bought a TEFAL Bienvenue small spatula (made of nylon 66 reinforced with 15% fiberglass for higher solidity and heat resistance up to 220°C) for RM9.10. From the first impression, the pan looks premium and "high-tech".

Before the first use, I followed the instruction to "season" the pan. I washed it with some water dan dishwashing liquid before wiping the coating with some cooking oil.

I will be updating this post with what I think of the pan after I have used it a few times. Stay tuned!

AIR-FRYER: KEROPOK LEKOR

How to fry Keropok Lekor using an Air Fryer: 1) Brush some oil evenly onto the keropok. You can use any cooking oil. I use coconut cooking oil. You can do without the oil, but your keropok will turn out a bit dry and dull-looking. If you apply some oil, it will help seal in the moisture and gives that "deep-fry" appearance to the keropok.  2) Air-fry at 180 deg C for 10 mins, check if cooked and increase the cooking time as needed. 3) Enjoy! Tambah masa memasak jika perlu. 3) Jom makan!

This is my second attempt to do this viral spicy aromatic rice. My rice turned out to be too wet in my first try. Thanks to the recipe from my friend, Intan Suraya, I finally got it right!
