My neighbourhood grocer is having a promo on fresh flower crab this weekend. So, I thought why not I make Maggi Ketam for lunch. Bought a whole crab at RM5.80. Cheap, eh?
Gathered whatever veggies I could find in the fridge and viola... Maggi Ketam. I'm so excited that my first attempt turned out slurp-licious!!!
1 pack of Maggi Kari
1 whole crab (cleaned and cut into two)
1 egg
2 tbsp Maggi Chilli Sauce
1/2 tsp Maggi Seasoning
400ml water
2 cloves of garlic
Some cooking oil
Veggies (you can use whatever veggies you fancy):
1 small tomato
Some mushrooms
Sawi (mustard green)
Garnish:
Coriander
Red chilli
A slice of lime
Method:
- Saute garlic in some cooking oil till fragrant
- Add water, crab, mushroom, Maggi Kari powder, chilli sauce and Maggi seasoning into the pot and bring everything to a boil.
- Add the rest of the veggies and allow to simmer for a few minutes
- Add the Maggi instant noodles and crack in an egg.
- Cook for about 2-3 min
- Garnish and serve hot!

The crab is cooked when the shell has turned orange. |
Don't cook the Maggi Instant Noodles too long. 2-3 minutes is all it takes, otherwise it will turn soggy. |
Squeeze some lime juice onto the crab before eating! |
Check out the yolk... |
Slurp-licious! |
